I think I may have found the problem with the computer I’ve been working on. This fan connector wasn’t plugged into the motherboard. So far, so good, but I’ll need some extended testing to confirm the fan connector was the problem.

Edit: Grr, that wasn’t the problem. However, there is good news that I have a heat sink that will fit the PIII. I’ll have to give that a try tomorrow.
