Sleep Etiquette

I’m trying to find a good way to sleep while still having more time in my day (I know, contradictory). What I’ve been doing lately is going to bed around midnight and getting up around 6 Monday through Friday. Saturdays is usually midnight to 10:30 and Sundays is usually 12:30 to 8:00.

If you notice the length of my slumbers are divisible by 90 minutes, the supposed average sleep cycle. It seems when I can actually pull off a 90 minute interval I awake rested, even if it was only 6 hours. The problem is I can’t always do that because I either don’t fall asleep or I get sidetracked. When I don’t pull it off, 9 out of 10 times I’m waking up during R.E.M. (the final period of a sleep cycle), the worst part of sleep to wake up during. When that happens I’m very groggy and feel like crap the rest of my day.

I’m just wondering what everyone else does to beat the system. Do you just live with being tired? Take naps? Screw beating the system and just sleep 8 hours or more? I know sleep is a personal thing and what works for one doesn’t work for all, but I’m just trying to get ideas. Hopefully I can gather a list of some things to try and see what works best for me. Thanks.

    11 or 12 - 7 weekdays, 12 or later till 8 on saturdays and i sleep till i wake up on sunday,
    i usally sleep for 20-30 mins in school but beside that if im bored im tired if not im good

    I usually attempt to go to bed around 2130 hours. I have to wake up at 0530 and I am usually quite refreshed. Also, naps are the greatest thing since sliced bread!

    I have to disagree with Mr Smithers. I find, if I nap during the day, I am unable to sleep well at night. I find taking massive quanities of schedule II narcotic analgesics help me go straight to sleep. I prefer getting 8.5 hours of sleep myself, though at times it takes me upto 90 minutes just to relax and fall asleep, my mind is too scattered in thoughts. I find sleeping nude though really relaxes me. Also masturbating right before going to sleep.
