Firefox Extension: IE Tab

With the help of Digg, I have found one of the best Firefox extension ever. It’s called IE Tab and it has so many uses. IE Tab allows you to run Internet Explorer in a tab within Firefox.

Now why would you want to do this? Well for one you can run websites such as Windows Update and PC Pitstop without having to open IE. Another use would be for those pesky websites that only let IE users in.

If you’re wondering about security, don’t. Internet Explorer only runs when you specifically tell Firefox to use it, and if it is running there are status indicator everywhere to make you aware. When you click on one of your bookmarks Firefox resumes to the Gecko rendering engine without any problem at all.

If you find that you have some website you still need to use IE for, or if you’re a web developer like myself, I would highly recommend you install the IE tab extension right away.

There is no way to use IE on a Mac. If you’re looking for an easy way to view a page in Safari there is a extension called Safari View.

Gigil, unfortunately, no. You can however run Internet Explorer on an Intel Mac, but there is no way to run it in a separate tab.

If you have the urge to code, run it through Postable and

wrap it up

.
