April 2006 Header: The Mystery Inside

A new month, a new header. This month’s header features one of my favorite parts of any electronic, the circuit board. Circuit boards have always been a mystery to me. If you just examine one you’ll see what appears to be a whole city. Small little pieces which maybe only create miniscule effects, but when put to work with others creates something wonderful.

Call me weird, but whenever I get a new motherboard or open up something like an Xbox, I can spent a good amount of time just examining how everything is put together. I consider circuit board almost an art, because some manufactures can create beautiful boards while others can only create boards that function. I just love when a board is laid out intelligently because not only does it make sense, but it makes things easier. Take for example the processor socket. If you place all your capacitors by your processor socket, installing a processor can be a real nuisance. So, design really can be an important factor with circuit boards.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this month’s header as much as I will. I also hope this post made some sense to you. To be honest, I had this month’s header all ready for quite sometime, but forgot to write my usual header write up until about five minutes ago. So, this post probably doesn’t have as much thought put into it as I usually put into my posts.

If you have the urge to code, run it through Postable and <pre><code>wrap it up</code></pre>.
