I just received my third rating period report card. I thought I’d post it up here since it’s something that may be of interest to some of you. It’s also been a tradition on my blog since my 10th grade year, and makes me feel better about not having enough time.

Congrats! Those look like tough classes too.
Since I’m a nosy of guy what colleges did you get into? And what are you going to major in? (I guess I’m allowed to ask these kinds of questions since I’m a senior too.)
I wish my high school had more interesting computer courses. There was the very low level typing class for people that don’t know how to use computers, then there was a basic HTML class and then the Java course, which I took. I think they were all taught by the same guy too.
I only applied to Pennsylvania State University and obviously got accepted there. I will be a majoring in Information Science and Technology, which is a Penn State created degree focusing on a the broader aspect of technology and how it relates to the end user.

how the rating’s working in USA, I just can see an A on every subject ! lol
By the way, what is AP US Governement ?

My school didnt offer much either. I had to take a typing course which was required for all students. Then I took Intro to Comp Sci which was a BASIC course. Taught by a math teacher. The next year I took Comp Sci I AP which was Pascal. Because the college board changed languages I took Comp Sci I over again with C++. That was about it.
Now ron, what did they teach in databases and networking? in my college when i took those there, it was extremely advanced stuff that nobody could apply in real life. DB was all theory and used relational algebra and networking was all about PBX (only i guess because my teacher is a well known Bell Labs Fellow). But good job! I was happy to get a D in Calculus II in college!
In databases we’re learning Microsoft Access. However, we’re not doing just basic things with it. We’re learning SQL and some of the advanced ways to create forms and such. In networking we’re learning most of the things you need to know to take the Network+ test.
Wow, the College Board must flip-flop languages a lot. Two years ago they were teaching .NET and this year the Computer Science course involves Java.
When did they switch to .NET? When I graduated in 1999 they were already in talks about switching to Java. I took Java in 1997-1998 school year, and took C++ in 1998-1999 school year. When i was in college, i guess my freshman and sophomore year they were considering switching languages for Computer Science I/II but said fuck with the college board because the undergraduate studies chairman is a C++ expert and hated Java. (Even though he tought it as an elective during my senior year)

I’m not exactly sure. All I know is the programming teacher said that last year was the first year they were using Java. I thought the teacher said they were using .NET previously but I could be wrong.
U-Pen? I know a lot of people at my school who wanted to go there. It’s supposed to have a very nice campus and that’s all I know. Well good luck on your AP exams you’ll probably do well.
I am just better than you! I have same GPA and one more AP class which counts for more, just because it does!
Not to mention I am only about 20 spaces ahead of you in class rank!
