Has anyone else noticed that Apple recently made a ton of announcements? Ever since Apple’s “failed” April 1st birthday, we’ve seen roughly an announcement a week. It started with the release of Boot Camp on Wednesday, April 5th. Then we saw the Universal and cheaper version of Aperture on Thursday, April 13th. We then had a “weak” announcement of a recycling program on Friday, April 21st. Next up was the 17-inch Macbook Pro on Monday, April 24th. Yesterday, Tuesday, May 3rd, we were treated to a new “Get a Mac” TV ad campaign.
Notice something? Apple’s been announcing something significant on a different sequential weekday since their birthday. I don’t know about you, but I find this behavior quite odd. Whether these are just announcements they had initially planned for their non-existant birthday celebration, or they’re just trying to stay in the news, Apple’s definitely up to something.
This behavior has started to get me wondering, how long are we going to see these weekly announcements? Personally, I think we’ll continue to see these announcements throughout May. With a new version of Final Cut Pro, the Video iPod, and the Macbook, Apple certainly has enough potential products to continue this trend for sometime to come. Steve Jobs’ recent comment of Apple having some upcoming products which are the best he’s seen in his life, has certainly swayed me to believe that the coming weeks are going to be no letdown for the Mac-addict in all of us.

I do agree it is rather odd now I think about it, but I am unsure what this means. My video iPod certainly won’t be out anytime soon. Though Steve did manage to ensure iTunes music is still at 99¢ which is always a plus. Final Cut Pro will not be mentioned at all until the PowerMacs come out, I’m afraid. So these are exciting times, and the adverts were quite humorous, but I’ve only seen one so far on TV.
Wow…kudos to you for noticing the sequential days. I hope it continues for a bit, but it is near impossible to say when you talk about Apple.
I think we’ll at least hear something. Final Cut Pro usually gets an update around this time.
Final Cut Pro gets an update at NAB, the broadcast industry trade show, which has come and gone this year. They released an exciting, though not so newsworthy, universal version/ incremental upgrade to Final Cut Studio.
I wouldn’t expect version 6 until next April at NAB. The current suite is still great, and the universal version will sell well when the Mac Pro, or whatever they call it, comes out late summer. Then many of those customers will pay a few hundred to upgrade next spring.
yes i know all about NAB, the company i work for was there as well promoting some new products but i didnt hear anything about unibin so thats good to hear, but i was referring more about version 6.
Also, Apple released Remote Desktop 3 on Tuesday, April 11th.

The ad campaign started Monday, May 1st. Saw it during “24″ on Fox. check your local listings
Correct, but the ads weren’t on Apple’s site until Tuesday.
Actually, they were on late Monday night. I had already viewed them all repeatedly and commented on them in my blog by midnight EDT.
Hmm, I think you’re right. I think I watched them late Monday night too. It’s just the media didn’t pick up on them until the following day. I guess that kind of screws up my theory. Oh well.
