Mac Gmail Notifier Broken?

For the past few days it appears that the Mac Gmail Notifier is broken. When I click on either the Inbox or Compose links in the Notifier drop-down instead of being presented with the expected page, I receive an error message stating that “the page you requested is invalid.” Is this occurring to anyone else on either Mac or Windows? While the Notifier still reports when I receive mail, it’s just mildly annoying to have to manually open my browser every time I need to read my inbox.

Works okay here. Had a similar thing happen a little bit back, wouldn’t open messages as I clicked on them from it. I used Appzapper to totally get rid of it and re-downloaded it.

i couldn’t get it to even report when i had new email–yes i verified my passwd and stuff was correct. i also couldnt successfully uninstall the Office Trial that was pre-installed on it as well. so i just dragged it into the trash.

I wouldn’t know, since I just use Apple Mail. I still don’t see why you don’t too. You can even tell Gmail to leave a copy of the message in your inbox to be re-downloaded on your PC. And now since your MacBook’s on its way, start getting used to the thought of using it. It’s an amazing App. I used Thunderbird on Windows and Apple Mail is so much simpler and appealing.

Btw, I bookmarked this post on Digg:

Maybe we can get some feedback from other OS X users.

I use Gmail Notifier through my domain name and it hasn’t worked the last couple of days either. I just used AppZap and reinstalled and it still didn’t work.

I went from using AppleMail to Gmail Notifier because it is much easier to just use the Gmail Notifier instead of waiting for AppleMail to download all of my messages. It’s also a better option if you have multiple machines simply because it’s all in one place and I don’t need to worry about downloading all my emails again, even if I leave them on the server.

i’m experiencing the same issue as matthew. i use google’s domain services to have name@mydomain.com email through gmail. even after completely reinstalling, google notifier still doesn’t work.

as with matthew, i prefer gmail over apple mail. i don’t like keeping email on my mac, and prefer them to be accessible on other computers too. google’s domain services are great if you manage your own server and don’t want to manage your own email server.

if anyone has a solution, please post it here. there are some older threads out there, but without resolve. any tips are appreciated.

This appears to be a solution. Not quite the same as the original Notifier, but at least it works….

    For me what worked was…

Trash your keychain item for gmail notifier

Quit and restart gmail notifier. It will prompt you for your email address and password. Enter them and check “save password in keychain”

Should be good again. I don’t know why
