My ‘It’s Showtime’ Predictions

Being only hours away from Steve Job’s “It’s Showtime” keynote, I thought it would be a good time to give my predictions for the event. I foresee:

  • Widescreen Video iPod
  • iTunes Movie Store (Disney Buy & Rent, Other Studios Rent Only)
  • iTunes 7 With Enhanced Video Playback
  • Updated Version of Front Row to Handle New Movies Section
  • Video Airport Express
  • 10.4.8

I have my fingers crossed particularly for the freebies (iTunes, Front Row, 10.4.8). Now to see what Apple has in mind…

Sounds good to me. If the Airport with video is true, I have a feeling that it might be a ‘killer app’ kinda product, or maybe it is just geeks like me who have Battlestar Galactica on their computers….

I really do hope they mention the video iPod–because people would want to travel with their videos, even if it is just Disney at the moment.

iTune Store is what I hear it is now called, so Music and Video…perhaps other items too? If 7 does come out I’ll be sure to backup my music–dunno if I told you Ron but when I updated iTunes last week, my iTunes folder corrupted itself. Apple allowed me to redownload 95% of my library. The items I couldnt redownload was because they no longer had–and I didn’t care it was a CD I made my mom so I didn’t need it anyways.

What is a Video Airport Express used for?

    10.4.8? Hmm…doubtful, 10.4.7 just came out, didn’t it?

I can’t wait to hear what happens though, I hope AAPL goes up today.

Looks like I nailed this one :-). The video AirPort Express is iTV and will be coming out in 2007. 10.4.8 and a new version of Front Row should be out within the next week or two.

    ron, a couple of things.

this itv thing could be huge, especially at the price the movies are releasing at, and especially since i can see people making things as tv outs so that movie collections will be easily portable. second, where the entry explaining this months banner?

in kish’s defence the blackboard does look rather difficult to make out because the overheard projector isnt too obvious

Anyway, the new Front Row was just released. Now only 10.4.8 needs to come out, which should be shortly.
