cavemonkey50.com is Pink for October

You may notice something is a little different around here this month. That’s right, cavemonkey50.com has gone Pink for October. My header this month is using one of the least used colors in web design, pink, and I think I did a damn good job implementing it.

Why the bright, vibrant color? To draw attention to National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and specifically the Pink for October cause. Pink for October was founded by Matthew Oliphant, a fellow 9ruler, and is devoted to raising money and awareness for breast cancer research.

A number of other 9rules websites have gone pink this month, and I figured why not. It’s only a simple color change. If you don’t like it, it’s only one month. If you do like it, check out Pink for October, and spread the word.

Not a bad implementation. It’s not too overwhelming and its just the header so its not a big deal. It’s a good cause.

I went subtle as well. I was a little too hesitant to go all out. I had all sorts of ideas in my head to use nothing but pink hues, but alas, nothing materialized.

If you have the urge to code, run it through Postable and

wrap it up

.
